Marcus Rashford has reportedly not travelled with the Manchester United squad to London for Sunday's FA Cup third round tie at Arsenal.
The Mail on Sunday report that the forward was not spotted at Stockport station before Ruben Amorim and the travelling party embarked on their train to the capital.
Rashford has already been the subject of heightened speculation this month.
His representatives have spoken to clubs in Italy and Spain over a potential move away from Old Trafford.
AC Milan are keen to make Rashford a key player in their team for the remainder of the season.
If United are to allow Rashford to leave, it’s understood United are leaning towards a straight loan before re-assessing his future in the summer. Adding an option will be considered - but the price would have to be right for United.
There is an acceptance United would have to contribute considerably to Rashford’s wages in any loan move.
West Ham are the latest club to show an interest, but it’s thought their feeling is Rashford is likely to go to a European club.
On Friday, new Hammers boss Graham Potter distanced himself from speculation he wants to sign the player.
“Well, I used to say this 20-odd months ago, I only comment on players that are West Ham players,” the 49-year-old, who had to deal with constant transfer speculation at previous club Chelsea, said.
“And all the speculation, I know from my own experience, sometimes things that are written in the newspapers aren’t exactly true, and you can get yourself in all sorts of knots, confirming or denying everything.
“So it’s best to just speak about players that are West Ham players.”
